The course explores the basis of all human behaviour through the introduction of concepts such as prejudice, bias, the diversity lens and cognitive maps of the world. It introduces all the interconnected diversity issues around disability, race, gender, sexual orientation and ageism tackled in the other current Diverse Culture modules.
On a practical level it also covers the negative behaviour of harassment and bullying and the destructive nature of favouritism and indirect discrimination.
It is increasingly recognised that valuing diversity is the key to widening the impact and effectiveness of equal opportunity policies in the workplace.
